Co.18 Training
On Saturday, February 18th, Engine and Paramedic 18 took advantage of an opportunity to get some re-fresher training with the Flashover simulator and the MAYDAY simulators at the Anne Arundel County Fire Department Training Academy (http://www.aacounty.org/Fire/Training/Index.cfm). Also participating was the crew from North Beach (Calvert County) Volunteer Fire Company.
Our thanks to Orchard Beach Volunteer Fire Company (http://www.orchardbeachvfd.com/) for filling Marley Park's quarters to allow us to train.
New Paramedic Unit placed in service
On February 25, 2005, Company 18 placed this new 2005 International/MedTec paramedic unit in service. PM18 carries a large variety of Advanced Life Support (ALS) equipment including a defibrilator/12-lead monitor, C.P.A.P, Thumper, Airway management kits, Trauma equipment, an IV fluid warmer and multiple patient transfer devices.
This unit will be serving the Community of Marley Park as well as providing assistance to the surrounding areas of Glen Burnie, Pasadena, Severna Park, and Brooklyn Park.
